Good Morning! Good Morning! Day 3 of our adventure dawns and I am finding it hard to get out of that soft, cozy, warm bed (oh my…there she goes about that bed…again). Time to head to the Yellow Rose Inn Bistro for breakfast. We get ourselves fueled up and off we go.
********
Our first stop today was the Butterfly Palace & Rainforest Adventure. Unbelievable species of butterflies await you in the tropical aviary. A 90 degree climate is maintained here to keep the aviary suitable for these decorative winged creatures. They also have a theatre where they show films on butterflies on a regular basis. Oh, it is against the rules (big time against the rules) to brush a butterfly off you. And they will land on you. I had to laugh watching my sister trying to shake one off her shirt! I found the Rainforest Science Center interesting. Several interactive activities make it an educational visit as well. The center houses many rainforest species, like frogs, salamanders, and HUGE giant cockroaches (ewwww) to pique your interests. Well, the cockroaches do not interest me (yuck), but it was entertaining. Was a little bit pricey, but overall I thought it a great experience.

I think it is a law somewhere that if you are within 5 miles of a Bass Pro shop, you must stop in. As you can tell from the picture, we really had to force Barry to go! Honestly, he was over 20 steps ahead of us by the time we reached the entrance. Nice place and we can safely say that Barry enjoyed it!
It is TIME to go see my sweety!

So back to Pierce Arrow we go! They have a great offer – when you come see them, you can bring in your tickets the next day and get in half priced. Sweeeeet! The matinée show was completely different from the one we saw last night. It was a lively and spirited performance, and like most shows around Branson, Pierce Arrow can put the room on fire with a deep respect to and for our servicemen.
Now my new crush, Tim Storms (all the way to the right in the pic), is a talented bass singer. He holds the Guinness World Record for singing the Lowest Note at 0.7973 Hz, as well as, the record for Widest Vocal Range For Any Human ten octaves. To top that, he was born in Oklahoma, which is well known for talented people. I could have just squished that fella in my arms for the pic, but it would not have been fair for me to deny the other talented guys of having a pic taken with me. YES! I live in my own world sometimes and I love it! Really Pierce Arrow gives a great performance that you will love. They are so nice and friendly, with smiles for all, even nuts like me! Pierce Arrow is the top show to see according to The Mom, Penny, Barry and me.
***** Catch my Last Day Adventure Post and I will tell you how you can win a trip to see Pierce Arrow at Christmas!****

Now just 1 mile south on Highway 165 from Highway 76 is veteran owned, Doc’s Hickory Roadhouse. We followed a delicious smell right in to the best hickory smoked BBQ place in Branson. Plenty of ribs and sides to fill us up (and a doggie-bag), all with that melt-in-your-mouth sauce! We could have had the famous Doc’s Heart Stopper, but none of us were that brave. You see, Doc’s Heart Stopper is 1 pound of smoked meat piled between 3 pieces of texas toast, with lettuce, pickles, onions and tomato thrown in. Oh, and don’t forget the 3/4 pound of fries to finish off this dish of bravery. The Mom even let sis and I have a grown-up drink. Next time you’re in Branson…Check them out. You will have a mouth-watering time!
*********
We finish up our day at the Mickey Gilley Theatre with Six. Six is a talented group of brothers that form their own band. I mean that literally! All big band sounds come from their own mouths. An awesome and entertaining experience. Their father was in the theatre the night we were there. Was nice to see one of the inspirations behind all 10 of the Knudsen boys. I think a medal is in order for him and the boy’s mom (who passed away). They do a lovely tribute to their mom towards the end of the show to ”Love Times 10″. Beautiful!

Well, The Mom said “Enough Already” about the beds here at Yellow Rose Inn. That’s ok tho… I have a new obsession… Tim Storms!

I am really starting to get jealous! I want to visit Branson so bad after reading all these great posts!
This sound like so much fun. I remember going there when I was younger. I can’t wait to go back.
looks like you had lots of fun!
Branson is a great place to go, too bad she forgot to ask her FAVORITE AUNT!!! lol
We are close enough we can even make Branson a day trip! We have been to the Butterfly Place when it was in a different location & loved it. Pierce Arrow is a great show, will have to go again, just to check out the guys, must have missed something the 1st time. We usually stay at the Angel Inn & use All Access Branson for tickets because they deliver to your motel or can pick them up at their office on the strip but will check out the Branson Tourism for tickets. All the shows are good in Branson have been to all most all of them several times. Been to the Titanic also but haven`t made it to the Veteran`s Memorial yet. Just think Debbie, The Mom could have bought her brother-in-law a cap also!!! Have not ate at that Bbq place but will soon. Some of our favorite places to eat is Florentina`s Italian, it is awesome, also Lone Star steakhouse is very good if you want a steak, Shorty Smalls is another favorite, but Lambert`s north of Branson is a must stop if you have never been. Home of the awesome thrown rolls. Glad you all got to go & had a great time, just let The Favorite Aunt know next time. Love you guys.
Looks like you all had a huge blast!! great pictures!!
Oh man, I want to visit here! I have mapped this and asked my husband to check out when we can take this vacation
destination! Thanks for letting me know about it
Looks like so much fun!
Sounds like you had a great time. My husband and I went to Branson last summer. It’s a great place to vacation.
I have to be honest, I grew up in Alaska, don’t know anything about the midwest, and never would have considered Missouri as a “fun” place to visit. BUT now that I’ve read your series, I have to admit there are some gems in Branson, MO!
I would love to go there. My son has been there and always tells me how awesome it is. Someday!
I want to see those butterflys! That would be so awesome! And the band sounds great! You’re lucky to have gone there. And now, I want to go! Lol
I’d never imagined a trip to Branson, but your reviews make me want to go. First of all, I LOVE butterflies and it sounds like this place is a step up from the butterfly observatory at the TN Aquarium. Plus I’d LOVE to try Doc’s Hickory Roadhouse! We LOVE BBQ! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. This opens up a new travel destination for me.
Looks like a really great time!! You’re smiling pretty wide up there.
Looks like Branson is where all the hot men are at!! Thanks for yet another great post on your trip there
Wow. I may have the same new obsession as you! Those are some nice looking men! WOW!
Looks like y’all had an AWESOME time!
I love traveling and I am NOT looking for hot men….lol…yet. You make everything look attractive.
