Granny’s Sail Away Adventure – Lets Talk FOOD! GoPicnic, Cracker Barrel, And First Watch!

Food….. one of the most important aspects of any trip! We have found some fantastic eats on our adventure. Here is some of our tummy refueling stops.

GoPicnic - We stopped and grabbed a quick bite near Jackson Mississippi and planned to get a good meal when we hit Mobile. After a long day driving, we hit our motel and just did not have the energy to get back out for supper. Thank goodness GoPicnic sent me a lil selection of their meals to go. Plus a great deal on their Party Box. We pulled out our goodies and had a picnic in our motel room. It was a feast! GoPicnic meals are easy to eat — everything in GoPicnic meals are ready to eat with no extra preparation required. Just open and enjoy, no need to heat anything up or add water. Which means you really can enjoy GoPicnic anytime you’re hungry, anywhere you go!

Go Picnic has many different packaged meals to choose from so I am sure you will be able to find one to make your taste buds dance. GoPicnic also loves the planet just like you do, and are very conscious about packaging waste and use recycled and recyclable materials wherever possible. Did you know that over 1/3 of food produced each year gets wasted? Individually packaged products like GoPicnic’s shelf stable meals can help here. There’s just enough for one serving, and nothing gets thrown away uneaten. Check them out HERE! AND Give them a Like on Facebook because you know I will have a giveaway after my trip…

Cracker Barrel is a unique and tasty stop for any traveler. They cook up homestyle meals prepared from scratch. Stop in with the whole family any time – breakfast, lunch or dinner. We stopped in at store #44 in Tallahassee, Fl. Leah was our waitress that evening. Sweet little gal and we were her first customers. She did a wonderful job. What we ordered originally was the salmon patty meal. unfortunately they ran out. We ordered something else, but we really was interested in the first choice. Leah told Associate Manager, Homer, Jackson, about our disappointment. He came to check on us twice during our meal. Apologized and explained about how sorry he was they ran out of the salmon cakes. Very nice people and our food was great.
Give Cracker Barrel a like on Facebook …. (Yeah, you will need to do that for the big giveaway at the end of my trip)

logoSo, the first place we ate at after hitting Fort Lauderdale was First Watch – The Daytime Cafe! Located in Sunrise, Florida’ First Watch is a nice family friendly restaurant. With a wait staff that tend to your every need, plus fresh cooked breakfast, brunch or lunch to get you a great and healthy start to your day.

First Watch offers an appetizing assortment of menu items, from traditional breakfast and lunch favorites—from eggs, pancakes, soups, salads and sandwiches, to their own irresistible specialties, such as the Chickichangas. Health conscious since their inception, “Healthier Side” features a variety of delicious options, including egg white omeletes, fresh fruit crepes and their signature Power Wrap™.

I had the Parma Hash - Two eggs* any style atop a hash of fresh, seasoned potatoes, Italian sausage, house-roasted Crimini mushrooms, onions and tomatoes with melted Parmesan, mozzarella and fresh herbs. I really loved this dish. Everything just melted together perfectly. A great mix of flavors. Manager, Charlie, and the assistant Manager Jeff both stopped at our table and checked on us and our meal. Very nice guys!

I give them a Five-Star. First Watch has restaurants located all across the country and just visit their website to find one near you. Of course you can find them on facebook.
