Black Friday will be upon us before you know it. How, When and Why deal hunters shop the way they do during this frantic and wild day? Recently, Find & Save decided to find out what makes these shoppers tick! Wanderful Media®, announced the results of the 2013 Find&Save Black Friday Shopping Survey, including what drives Black Friday shoppers, how, when and why they shop, and their strategies for finding the best deals. You can read more of the report here. I am just going to touch on a couple things today.
It is a no-brainer that sales are the main motivation behind the shoppers on Black Friday. Another factor seems to be the thrill of competing for those “special” store deals that companies use to lure shoppers in. Research states 67 percent of shoppers not only research and map out a plan for Black Friday, but also have a different strategy each year based on where they will find the best deals. On average they spend at least 2 hours planning their shopping. Most plan on line and sites like Find & Save help them organize their best deal excursions on Black Friday. Shoppers can get timely alerts and reminders about expiring sales of interest at retailers they love — so they never miss another opportunity to save.
How do they classify these two types of shoppers? The “Night Owls” – Black Friday shoppers leaving their house before 5:00 AM, and the “Early Birds” – Black Friday shoppers leaving their house after 5:00 AM. Check out this infographic on the differences between the two types of Black Friday Shoppers…
