Park City, Utah, is an amazing community in which to live. This popular suburb of Salt Lake City is a strong draw for singles, couples and families who are looking for a fantastic place to live. Here are some things to know about this community.

The beginning history of Park City is similar to other communities around Salt Lake City. Mormon pioneers came to the area, saw a beautiful area and decided to settle. Eventually, gold, silver and ore was found in the area. This created a massive boom as prospectors came looking for work and fortune. Although the boom was big, the bust was extremely hard. Recognizing the community needed something different in order to grow and thrive, the decision was made to become a town that featured ski resorts. The first ski resort opened in 1963. This worked out beautifully, and it continues to thrive up to today. In fact, Park City was a featured venue when the Olympics came to the area in 2002.

Housing Options
People who are looking for Park City rental real estate will discover a nice variety of houses, condominiums and apartments. There are excellent Park City condos for rent. Many of the facilities have been built within the past 15 years. Available real estate is scattered all over the community, and that enables people to choose the neighborhood in which they want to live. Some homes feature three bedrooms and two bathrooms while others have plenty of space. Although preferences vary between people, there are great options in Park City.

Downhill skiing is one of the most popular recreational activities in the area. Three ski resorts feature amazing slopes and accommodations. People from all over the United States come to Park City to spend some time on the slopes. There is a wide variety of lifts and slopes that are perfect for people of all ages to enjoy. Parents of young children can be encouraged to know that there are special classes that are designed to instruct young children how to downhill ski. There are classes for adults and youth to sharpen their skills in skiing or snowboarding. While winter activities are very popular in the area, there are wonderful summer activities as well. Mountain biking is an excellent activity that can provide a rush that can hardly be described. There are exciting bike trails that are perfect for exploring the area and provide a fun challenge. Hiking trails are scenic and exhilarating. There is a wonderful golf club that is ideal for golfing enthusiasts. There are community sports leagues and local parks for the entire family to enjoy.

Shopping and Other Activities
As a resort community, there are plenty of shops in which residents can find exactly what they want. Main Street features historic Victorian buildings that have shops and restaurants. An outlet mall features great deals each day. It is a popular place for many residents to do their shopping. People will love the wide variety of dining options. There are plenty of American restaurants that have delicious steaks and juicy hamburgers. Other restaurants feature Japanese and Italian cooking. Nightlife in the community is a draw for young adults.

Since Park City is about 30 miles from downtown Salt Lake City, it is quite popular for people to commute to the city and back. The international airport is about a 35-minute drive. A bus system brings people to where they need to be. Biking is also a popular way for people to commute around the community. Taxis are available to transport people wherever they decide to go.

Monthly and yearly events in Park City are designed to bring people together. One of the most popular annual events in the city is a film festival that brings people from all over the world. The event is in late January and early February. There is a festival of the arts that is a huge draw for the community. Artists bring their works to be purchased. There is a fantastic marathon as well as a music festival. The symphony of the community plays amazing music, and people can hear the orchestra during the summer and winter.

Park City has an excellent school system. The focus of educating children in not only academically based, but the focus is also on equipping each student for life. There are numerous clubs and activities for students to join. There are outdoor activities like skiing, soccer, football, softball and more. There are indoor games and crafts children can do.


It is not a surprise that Park City is a great place to live. The community features wonderful outdoor and indoor activities. With the great options and real estate in Park City, it is not a surprise that many people choose to live there.
