1886 Crescent Hotel & Those Who Live… Ummm… Reside There! Part 2!

13639527_114298405191The Crescent Hotel and Spa is nestled on an Ozark mountaintop. Aside from their Victorian lodging, the resort plays host to a multitude of  Spirits. Yes, they have the drinkable ones, but I am talking about the ones that may, at any moment, appear to guests. You might see the ghost of General Manager, Morris the cat, going about doing his duties. Just as in life… he still sets his own hours.

*Side Note* Cats do run the grounds and Hotel… You know the Crescent may have ghosts, but they don’t have mice…lol!

We did meet a couple of REAL residents… Casper and Jasper…100_52211

Now we have the Living out of the way… let’s get on with others that wander the halls of this historic monument…

100_5199One of the first ‘temporal’ residents was Michael, the young Irish stonemason who fell to his death (where room 218 is now located) while building the hotel in 1885.

Now, he is known to be a ladies man. His antics include pushing men out of bed, and pulling covers off the women in the middle of the night.

Want to stay in Michael’s room…stand in line. Current reservations are about a year out since his room is the most requested. Hmmmm ! Are you brave enough to stay with Michael?

100_5173We will continue on with the next most requested room and personality at the Crescent… Theodora!

Theodora resided at the Crescent during the late 1930’s. At this time, it was known as Dr. Baker’s Cancer Hospital. Room 419 is her permanent residence.

Best advice I can give you is don’t be messy in her suite… she will straighten up.  There is also the fact that if she does not like you… your bags will be packed when you return to the room.

100_5135Also if you wish… you might wait to see the Lady of the Mist who sometimes shows around 10:30 at night.

During the years that the Crescent was a refined Ladies College, one young woman fell to her death from the 3rd floor balcony.

It has been rumored she could have been pushed… she may have been pregnant, but some secrets are not to be told!

If you visit the Crescent then maybe you will see ‘the mist’ descend from the third floor balcony .

Now there are many other known and unknown residents, but I should leave some for you to learn about when you visit. You can take the self-guided tour of the Crescent or take the guided one. You may visit the famous Morgue….  they will even let you check out the body freezer….

Ummmm, we did remember to let these folks out… right?

So, did we see anything along the line of SpOokY?

100_5170 Wellllll! In a completely dark room with NO flash… This showed up!

I do not know what it is.

I do not want to know.

I am quite happy that we had such a nice time without an appearance from the residents of The Crescent.

Oh, There is even more fun for us….. just tune in tomorrow!

Until then… check out my First post on our Girls Getaway…
