Just prior to Wild Bill getting shot (for the first time of the day), we met up with him…
Just shortly after, Jack McCall murdered James Butler “Wild Bill” Hickok while he was playing poker. The infamous saying “Dead Man’s Hand” was coined from this event in history because Bill was holding Aces and Eights at the time of his death.
Downtown Deadwood has lots of action. Plenty of Gambling Halls, restaurants, and shopping experiences. There is also a great Coffee shop just across from Number 10 Saloon where you can fill up with great coffee flavors!
We stopped bt Kevin Costner’s Midnight Star Casino while we were there. Intended to visit Diamond Lil’s Restaurant upstairs, but the elevator was down. three flights of stairs were too much for me, but the great people there brought us a menu and set us up at a table in the bar. Good food and fantastic service. Lot of memorbilia thruout and tho I would have loved seeing upstairs, there was plenty to look at downstairs.
So much to see and do in Downtown Deadwood. You really need to plan a trip there and see it all!
Really hated to leave Deadwood. There was so much we did not get to do.
Sis and I had a blast!
